Woolbrook is situated to the west, between Sidmouth and Sidford, and has many and varied housing, together with, the local Fire & Ambulance Station, Waitrose and Lidl stores, along with more traditional shops; an excellent butcher, baker, newsagent and pharmacy.

St Francis is the local Parish Church and has been here since the 1930 ' s when it was a daughter church to the Sidmouth Parish, and became independent when the first team was established in the 1960 ' s.  It has an active Social Committee, which organises many different events during the year.  The Church welcomes everyone to worship our Lord Jesus with them in the unity of faith.  The churchmanship is broad, from evangelistic outreach services to High Mass with incense on certain festival days.  The week-day and Sunday services are Common Worship in Traditional Language.  Wheelchair access is possible but sitting in the wheelchair must be at the back, or at the front, of the church.

St. Francis has a Church Hall which is widely used by both the church and the community
